The Greek yogurt in order to be named as such it has to be produced in a specific way, which means not only by incorporating bacteria cultures, but also by following the required process removing some of the whey through straining, leaving more of the milk solids. When the whey is gone, the yogurt takes on a thicker, creamier texture, which affects not only the nutritional value of the product, but also its actual taste.
